The President of Carver, Dr. LeRoy Randolph, Jr., is a native of Chicago and a graduate of Howard University where he earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees. He is married to the former Lorraine Owens, the proud parent of two grown daughters and the grandfather to three grandsons. Upon graduation from Law School, Dr. Randolph entered military service and retired from the Army Reserve in 1993 as a Colonel. He joined the firm of Jackson and Randolph as a junior partner in 1971. He has served a Judge Pro Tempore in Douglas County, Kansas, Assistant Professor at the University of Kansas, and served as a Tax Judge on the Board of Tax Appeals having been appointed by Governor Robert Bennett.
In 1971, sensing the burden to bring the message of salvation to more Black people and other minorities, Dr. Randolph and 3 other couples were led to plant Decision Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. In 1976, he joined the Board of Carver Bible Institute and began to teach. In 1980 he began to do some administration as Director of Stewardship and Development and later became the Registrar. In 1985, Dr. Randolph felt the call to full-time service and became a missionary under a home missions agency. In 1991, he and Lorraine joined the Evangelical Baptist Missions agency. Dr. Randolph also served as the Academic Dean of Carver before being appointed as the President by the Board of Directors in 1991. |
